Command Fitness Leader Course (CFL)

Command Fitness Leaders (CFLs) play an integral part in the overall fitness and readiness of Sailors. CFLs are not only responsible for conducting the bi-annual Preventive Health Assessment (PFA) for their commands, but also provide exercise programming and guidance throughout the year to ensure the members of their command maintain physical readiness.

All CFLs must be trained and certified through the five-day Command Fitness Leader Certification Course, which covers the administrative actions and duties of a CFL, basic exercise physiology and nutrition principles and basic PRIMS training, as well as intense, daily gym sessions teaching various methods for exercise programming. Upon the conclusion of this course, CFLs will have the skills, education, and motivation to lead the way in establishing and maintaining a culture of fitness for their command and the United States Navy.

Mission Nutrition

This is a one-day nutrition course for those who want to increase their understanding of food and weight relationships. Learn how to shop wisely, build meals and understand external factors that affect eating habits as well as information on fad diets, sports nutrition, and supplements. Course taught by CNIC-Certified Mission Nutrition facilitators with instruction by NSA Bahrain's Fitness Specialists and Dietitian.

Navy Operational Fitness & Fueling Series (NOFFS)

The Navy Operational Fitness and Fueling System (NOFFS) provides the Navy with "best in class" physical fitness and nutrition information for Sailors, allowing the Navy to maintain peak physical readiness, which is a top priority of the 21st Century Sailor and Marine initiative.

   NOFFS Operational Series

Submarine Series: This card series progresses you through 3 levels of training, each with 4 stages. Each level and stage will progressively increase the intensity and volume of the training session.

Large Deck Series: This card series progresses you through 3 levels of training, each with 4 stages. Each level and stage will progressively increase the intensity and volume of the training session.

Surface Ship Series: This card series progresses you through 3 levels of training, each with 4 stages. Each level and stage will progressively increase the intensity and volume of the training session.

            Group Training Series: This card series progresses you through 3 levels of training, each with 4
            stages. Each level and stage will progressively increase the intensity and volume of the training session.

   NOFFS-Strength, Endurance and Sandbag Series

The Strength Series: The Strength Series helps develop the strength that is needed to perform at the highest of levels. There are three training phases within the series intended to progressively build a user’s total work capacity and improve cardiovascular fitness.

The Endurance Series: The Endurance Series focuses on developing cardiovascular fitness while providing methods to improve muscular strength.

The Sandbag Series: The Sandbag Series provides you with a training plan that can be performed in environments with limited equipment options developing the raw strength and power needed to meet the performance demands placed upon you in any environment.
