ABOUT THE JOB 

This position serves as the Caterer for the Food and Beverage Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, NSA Bahrain. The Food & Beverage Division includes multiple operations located at several locations. The incumbent is in charge of catering activities, day-to-day catering office operations, and assists with Food & Beverage Division special events. Plans, arranges, schedules and advises on customer affairs, command functions, cultural events, military balls, parties, banquets, receptions and other special command and social activities. This includes planning and arranging for food and beverage preparation and service, decorations, seating, observance of necessary protocol and other related matters to include catered functions outside the confines of the clubs. Position requires knowledge of quality food and beverage preparation, presentation and storage to ensure an effective, attractive and sanitary food and beverage program. Also requires an understanding of menu development and providing required services in a profitable manner.

BG-07: One (01) year equivalent to at least BG-06. Specialized Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. OR 4 years above high school (Provide Transcripts). 

Specialized Experience 

Specialized experience is experience typically in or related to the work of the position that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position. 

? Applicant must possess a minimum Of 5 years equivalent work experience at a high volume food service production, restaurant, hotel or catering environment. 

? Applicant must possess a minimum 2years of experience coordinating catering operations. 

? Knowledge of arranging for food and beverage preparation, decorations, entertainment and protocol. 

? Knowledge of food and beverage accountability and inventory controls. 

? Knowledge of marketing techniques to advertise and attract activities for the club. 

? Ability to develop and apply food service quality assurance methods principles and practices. 

? Requires an understanding of menu development and providing the required services in a profitable manner.
