ABOUT THE JOB 

This position is located in the Security Department, Naval Support Activity, Bahrain. The employee is assigned as a NSF interpreter and performs a variety of clerical, automation and administrative duties to provide assistance to the Political Liaison Officer and effectively operate the office in his absence. Receives and answers routine telephone inquiries or refers to staff members; maintains and orders office supplies, as requested; and updates manuals on policies, directives, studies, etc. Knowledge of using various types of correspondence to include by not limited to narrative and tabular material, such as forms, memoranda, correspondence and reports from draft to final. Have a general knowledge of, and the use of formatting correspondence and the proper use of syntax to identify and correct grammatical errors. Type memorandums and other correspondence in accordance with Navy Manual and other applicable guidance, for review by supervisor. Responsible for ensuring forms for Immigration; to include, but not limited to: Passports, Visa’s, sponsorship packages and CPR’s are correctly filled out for submittal to Local Bahraini agencies in accordance with current Bahraini Laws and guidelines. Collects, delivers, and picks up all Passports, Visa’s, sponsorship packages, and CPR’s from the local agencies. Communicates with local Bahraini agencies in the local dialect (Bahraini) and issues, questions or concerns pertaining to U.S. personnel, family members, and Third Country Nationals (TCN’s) that the NSA Immigration Office is responsible for in servicing with Local Bahraini agencies. Responsible for the management, collection, filing, storing and tracking of U.S. TCN, and Coalition Forces Passports, Visa’s, sponsorship packages and CPR’s that are received by the NSA immigration office from the collection of reviewing and submitting to Local Bahraini agencies, and returning to individuals (from cradle to grave). Responsible for the collection of fees for Passport, Visa’s, and CPR’s using credit cards and inputting information in the Local Bahraini agencies computer systems. Provides and receives receipts for all services provided from and for all customers; receives receipts from Local Bahraini agencies for dropping off and receiving official documents. Good working knowledge of the Bahraini organization to be able to answer inquiries of a general nature or refers to responsible staff member. 

QUALIFICATIONS/EVALUATION REQUIREMENTS

BG-07: General experience: 3 years, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least BG-06. Education: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. 

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT 
• Applicant must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently. 
• Applicant must be 18 years of age at the time of application. 
• Applicants other than Bahraini/Arab Nationals must be registered in LMRA. 
• A Current Good Conduct Certificate dated within 3 months of this announcement will be requested at the time of Job Offer. 
• VISA, PASSPORT, DRIVER’S LICENSE AND CPR MUST BE VALID FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS AT APPLICATION RECEIPT DATE. 
• Assists in array of office related support functions including but not limited to collecting Visa and CPR applications, filling records, providing receipts, updating suspense and completion dates, etc. 
• Working knowledge of operating a computer terminal and/or related office equipment. 
• Must possess and maintain a current and valid Bahrain driver’s license. 
• Good command of English and Arabic languages, both oral and written.
