ABOUT THE JOB
This position is located within the Morale Welfare & Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Support Activity Bahrain. The purpose of this position is to design and produce various forms of marketing material to promote Fleet & Family Readiness (FFR) facilities, programs and events. Designs and produces finished graphic material and projects used to promote FFR operations, activities, events, and facilities with direction from the MWR Marketing Manager. Projects include newsletters, brochures, posters, fliers, menus, logos, letterhead, tickets, table tents, forms, business cards, video production, photo editing, electronic marquee notices, and social media visuals etc. Performs tasks for special events as needed, which may include designing signs, framing and coordinating visual material, backdrop creation, collateral support, and an assortment of other tasks. Prepare final press-ready files for printing with approval from the customer and MWR Marketing Manager. Communicates regularly with marketing staff to ensure draft work receives approval of the requestor, deadlines are met, and organization goals are accomplished, set forth by the MWR Marketing Manager. Monitors and maintains workload schedule and assures deadlines are being met. Exercises tact, diplomacy and courtesy when serving and assisting customers. Responds to customer comments and complaints in an effective manner. Maintains computer files in accordance with department standards for all completed work, including photographs, to assist with development of designs for recurring activities and to display various options the customer can use to describe his/her preferences.
QUALIFICATIONS/EVALUATION REQUIREMENTS

BG-09: EDUCATION: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least BG-07.
Specialized Experience (for positions above BG-07): Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other art work, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Some positions may also require subject-matter knowledge of medicine, science, or technical equipment.
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Work is performed in a normal office setting. Occasional lifting and moving of supplies and/or materials is required.
On occasion, will be required to work at outside events.
On occasion, will be required to work nights and/or weekends as needed to support mission goals.
